About The Salamanders

The Salamanders are a Wirral/Liverpool-based band formed in 2000. The band’s lineup consists of five members: lead vocalist Karl Bilby, lead guitarist Mark Johnson, bassist Jason Powell, rhythm guitarist Adam Powell and drummer Paul Lester.

With a unique blend of rock, blues, and alternative sounds, The Salamanders have gained a loyal following over the years. Their music is characterised by catchy melodies, intricate guitar riffs, thumping bass and powerful vocals, creating a sound that is both memorable and infectious.

Some radio DJs liken them to The Stooges, The Strokes and Joy Division ‘only catchier!’. The Salamanders have managed to obtain a sound of their own.

They’ve impressed the likes of Liverpool music legends Mike Badger and Dave Monks, with some of their tracks being used several times by Liverpool Football Club on match days and combined with LFCTV video footage.

They have played many gigs, including supporting The Doors Alive, windswept music festivals in Cumbria, Liverpool’s Mathew Street Festival and even a fashion label launch show!
